Looks like the new iPod Touch will indeed be coming out soon. The new iPod is said to have a similar form factor to the iPhone. Presumably it will be thicker (for the HD) and also has a black surround as opposed to a silver cover (see mockup).
The new range (including the Nanos) are expected to be launched in Paris at the Apple Expo (Sep 25th-29th) or else at an earlier Media Event.

I'm confused. Why get a Touch iPod when you can just get the phone? Why get a new Nano when it only has 16gb? I think Apple are in danger of splitting the market. Unless the Touch iPod is much cheaper than the iPhone, and the current iPod, I think they are making a big mistake with the new line up.
I agree with Greg. Surely a Touch iPod is going to cost around the $400 mark. Unless it's radically cheaper I'm just getting an iPhone.
you rich people think your so cool. why get the ipod touch? because i have a phone and the iphone is uber expensive. not just buying it, but month to month too. I know one guy that got an iphone and is almost regretting it because it costs so much just to pay for all its features. The touch ipod is great for all the people like me because you only have to pay for it once and you still get all the things iphones have except for the phone part. so dont go callin apple stupid because you have to admit, their technology is pretty awesome compared to DELL and all those companies.
You can use an ipod touch without having to pay a monthly premium on your cell phone-that is the greatest benefit.
