iPhone gets released in Ireland, May 2008

Again we have to apologise. It's all very very busy here and with no decent rumors to report it has been very quiet. Until now!

O2 launches the iPhone in Ireland in May - TD exclusive
From a very reliable source we can confirm that O2 Ireland do indeed have the exclusive rights to the iPhone here in Ireland and will be launching it in May 2008. We don't know if any other countries will be involved in this latest release but the Irish market is confirmed.

MacBook Pro gets speed bump and Multi-touch trackpad
Any day now the MBP is due it's long awaited upgrade with faster chips, more ram as standard and the MacBook Air's new trackpad.

iMac update
The iMac hasn't been updated in ages either, so to round up our very weak "Top 5", it's been included.

Apple have been very busy over the past few months. Nearly all the top 5 rumors have come as expected and gone leaving us with little else to hope for! For now...

MacBook Thin, Mac Pro gets Blu-Ray, Rent Movies in iTunes, Macword 08 Roundup

Looking back there hasn't been an update since September. While I am tempted to apologise I also have to point out that none of the main rumors have changed since then which is disappointing. But to round up what's expected at MacWorld '08 in San Fran...

MacBook Thin
Having been talked about for years the day is finally apon us where we expect to see Apple release its ultraportable Laptop. External Optical devices, Flash hard drive, half inch thick, multi-touch 'intuitive' Touchpad? Hopefully Apple will spoil us with something as ground breaking as the 15" Titanium all those years ago!

Blu-Ray Support
The MacPro and possibly the MacBook Pro too, along with it's speed bump, should see the integration of a Blu-Ray Supredrive making HD for everyone. The top end iMac should get it too.

Mac Pro and MacBook Pro Refresh
As to how big the refresh will be on the Mac Pro is my big question. Why are we still using a case designed specifically for 2 very Hot G5 chips?....

iRent
iTunes get a movie rental service. Woopdy doo. Will be interesting to see the terms and price of the rental though.

Happy New Year. Enjoy MacWorld. Will update the site with all the latest pages and tech specs once I've seen the video!

iPhone in Europe announcement on September 18th?

Apple have announced a special media event in London on the 18th of September. "Mums is no longer the word" is the tagline for the event.

Basiscally Apple are finally going to announce the iPhone in Europe! For us here in Ireland it looks like Apple are only going to release the phone in the UK, France and Germany to start with. But with the recent release of the free Sim unlock "iUnlock" (with instructions) it won't be that hard to get your iPhone here.

Apple will probably also announce an extended iTunes Store service, definitely for the UK, and possibly for the rest of Europe too.

MacBook Thin, Movie rentals on your iPod?

After the last few weeks frenetic activity of releases from Apple we are now struggling to find the next bunch of "Top 5" rumors.
The old new Mac Mini and iPhone in Europe are still there. The iPhone nano is also expected before the Holiday season. Looking back the most likely new rumors are:

• MacBook Thin
There's been talk about this for years now, but more and more patents from Apple looks like they could be releasing their idea of a "Thin" notebook. Will probably be the thinnest notebook ever released when it does come out.

• iTunes Movie Rentals
With the iPod line now all video (bar the Shuffle obviously), and the iPod touch with WiFi and the iTunes Wifi Store on the way, it looks like Apple are warming up to release a rental feature for movies from the store.

New iPod Lineup

With the release of the new iPod lineup across the range, for the first time since launch, we are struggling to come up with a solid top 5 rumor list and more importantly a rumor homepage image!

Keep posted for an update after the weekend while we look through the archives to find out what's most likely to appear next on the list. November is traditional for iBook upgrades so the MacBook Thin is looking good for the next big thing.

Check back soon...
